I don't do savage or ultimate but like using BLM in other contents. I liked stacking spell speed regardless of optimization because it feels better with lower recast time, but sometimes it will be slower when I level or item level synced. Because of this, I think the recast time should be fixed to your unsynced stat. The only thing I can think why it's bad is it will be overpowered in something like ultimate, but i'm not sure since I never did it.
Yeah losing crit, det, or dh from materia melds is one thing, but speed is problematic for the integrity of loopium and a lot of rotations.
For ultimates it's an actual problem for the old ones that don't use modern gear anymore with materia, but just live on synced down gear where all substats are filled anyway, but you can always work around it by using other gear. Generally you prep for them before. It's more of a problem for synced random past content, even though it's not like, a huge bother for more casual content, but it can be mildly annoying.
Yes, this would completely Break ultimates. This would firstly, make sks/sps gear useless when doing old ultimates, and it would force every job to run full sks/sps melds in their gear as it becomes a way of using materia in synced content. Basically your increasing the stats on gear by up to 70% depending on the fight.
