6.4 Technical - Audio
My game's audio has been cutting out abruptly and the only way to fix it is to fully Exit the game.
There's no rhyme or reason as to why audio cuts out. It happens mid NPC text conversation, running through Thavnair, and standing around in Hawker's alley.
ALL audio just stops, not muted or toggled.
Update: Audio has been working fine for over an hour after these actions I took:
-Disconnected all unnecessary devices (Oculus quest 2, PS5 Controller, HDMI from a capture card, Web cam)
-Restarted PC
-
Same issue is happening to me. Audio is cut off at random times after logging in. Only way to resolve it is to restart ffxiv.

Same im having random issues with sound. Only when i exit the game and reload does it come back, only to mute its self again randomly. Not my pc as sound works with everything else.

-
I am also having the same issue. About 4-5 minutes after entering the game audio completely cuts out and is only fixed by completely exiting the game and re-logging. Attempted this process 3 times with similar results
-
Getting black screen on exit and audio cutting out randomly, but turning off DX11 seems to have fixed it for now. Hopefully hotfix soon because FF14 without Dx11 looks like trash.

Same issue. Sometimes the sound cuts off in dungeon, in public space or in the inn, there's no clear culprit.
Nearly every hour the sound will simply go.

Audio issues
Same issue here. Audio will cut out randomly. Have tried disabling all sorts of other services on my Windows 10 system that might interfere. Also removed some recently installed applications in case there was interference. Can get sound back with a game restart - restarting sound related windows services doesn't seem to help - have to restart game. And like others - i get stuck on a black screen while it is trying to stop the game - with the windows spinny blue donut. Continuing with no sound for now to do some gathering and crafting - but gonna wait to see this hopefully resolved before running content - really would like to hear the questlines.

Same issue here. Was okay yesterday and since the patch downloaded my sound is constantly cutting out. Having to re-download all the patch files.
