Trigger Warrior of Light PSN trophy even if you have finished current MSQ

I got a PS5 and I have been slowly unlocking the ARR achievements by completing the activities required, one at a painful time.

I had a struggle to get "Warrior of Light" for completing base 2.0 MSQ.

• I tried triggering it by popping into New Game plus, but that doesn't count.
• I tried doing a tribal quest daily per someone's suggestion, but that didn't work.
• I tried talking to Jonathas (Keeper of the Rolls) and that didn't work.

FINALLY I switched characters to one that is currently around patch 2.4 in MSQ, and completed MSQ on that character, which triggered it to give me Warrior of Light on PSN.

Not every level 90 player will have a spare 50+ alt lying around, so what is the correct procedure to trigger this when you're in between patches?
