I have been trying to unlock Bozja. It is locked behind the raid in Stormblood (as a side note, why? Are the two stories connected at all?). Anyways, I queued for the first raid last night at what I would say prime-time, around 8p.m. The queue took 50ish minutes to pop. In my opinion, you should not have content in the game locked behind the story. I mean the story is great, I love it, but when it gets in the way of people actually playing the game, you have a problem. Just my $.02.
Yes the stories are connected. The queue time is sad, yeah, but Ivalice is genuinely a fun alliance raid series.
All content is locked behind story because it's a story-driven game. You might not like it or agree with it, but the entire game is made that way from start to finish and it doesn't seem likely that could ever change. Even the most forgettable and irrelevant side dungeons have a story associated with them if you watch the cutscenes.
But you require the raids because its story is directly related to it and necessary for the story in Bozja.
Just wait till you get to Bozja then, large parts of it are incompletable solo or without a decent sized party, and it's pretty much empty on a few data centers.
If you think 50 minutes for Ivalice is bad wait till you have to spend days waiting for Castrum to pop with enough people to do the mechanics, or spend days/weeks queueing for Delibrum waiting for enough to complete it, or for people to leave their Z3 farming in Zadnor for Dalriada to get off the ground.
They've needed something for these underpopulated side instances for a while but so far not a lot of solutions.
when they cut off the ability to exploit yourself to do only Crystal Tower Raids in alliance roulette, it would be do a difference.
It can be done by making a simple tier ilevel lock, which means at level 50 your alliance roulette will be locked behind the minimum ilevel required for World of Darkness, when you hit level 60, your requirement to do alliance roulette will have a raised minimum ilevel to what is required to do dun scaith.... when you hit level 70, your minimum ilevel would need to what is required to do orbonne... same with shadowbringers and endwalker.... however with final expansion, you would just need the minimum requirement of ilevel to enter of the one alliance raid added to the Alliance roulette of course.
It would also keep life to crafted max tier items each set of 10 levels you optain
That would prevent level 90 ultimate legend of whatever person to take off almost all gear then queu and exploit self into dull annoying Crystal tower raid series as only feature, which really ruins the game for all only being able to do those ARR ones with the roulettes as in you get no diversity and also you get all these posts about the game is being boring and all when alot of the reasons to that IT IS like this, is because it is the players that prevents you for having diversity.
