Is the Healer subforum here toxic?

I feel like asking people in an echo chamber if the echo chamber is bad or not is the functional equivalent to "We investigated ourselves and found that we've done nothing wrong".

What's interesting is the OP openly disparages the side opposed to the prevailing echo chamber, says that being toxic to those people is a good thing, then presents the echo chamber side is good...all while suggesting the subforum isn't toxic.

And, for bonus points, the few people who have posted in the thread that are not part of the collective are misrepresented and attacked.

So I thought I would present this question outside of the echo chamber and see if a more general audience thinks the same or not. /shrug

I don't know if it is or not, but as a casual healer I can say that in most normal content, healers are braindead easy to play and mostly amount to spamming a single DPS button. If I press any heals on Scholar it is normally Whispering Dawn, Fey Blessing or Aetherpact and if absolutely needed, Excogitation and then Lustrate. But when you're used to it that's just like pressing Second Wind or Bloodbath on a DPS when you're low.

That isn't entirely a bad thing. It's nice to have a job I can queue on when I'm tired and don't want to have a complex rotation. It's my role of choice if I'm tired. I also do actually find it fun, but like on every role, it's only fun if there are large pulls, otherwise it's not even remotely challenging anyone there to use their CDs.

I think that healers have more challenge in high-end content, where I have often seen healers coordinating with eachother and planning out their healing CDs around the fight as part of the learning process. Not to mention how those heals have to be fit in quickly in some cases between explosions or casts. I have not done much high-end content as a healer. One of the fights I did it was completely braindead except one mechanic (which is why I did it) and the others were rough.

That isnt healer exclusive though, slow tanks are equaly anoying towards dps players as they simply are also restricted in the damage output they can deal (dealing damage against a group of 20 instead of 10, makes aoe targeting a lot more important, and rewarding).

Slow tanks are a completely diffirent issue.

Even with fast tanks in normal duties, you press 1 for 80% of the time, as the demand for healing is barely there. Usualy its just the Aoe dotheal/shield with a refresh in the middle. And sometimes an ogcd aoe heal. But outside of that rarely anything else. Usualy when this is demanded, its simply because the tank lacks stats (and therefor buffer) demanding extra heals. Or its because of a dps disconnect/bad dps.

Its sad that a sub lvl 50 dungeon can already be more chalenging in its mobs than all of the 70-90 dungeons combined. Just because they dont allow w2w pulls and require the tank to dynamicly decide the size. And its also typical those dungeons where healers already do more healing. As that same healing is why a tank pulls more. i dont care if new dungeons get 5 mobs between the bosses. As this way there are several ways of handling it (2+2+1, 3+2, 2.5+2.5 - halfway killing them already moving forward), and by that is also more forgiving towards healers anyway.

That is the true healer problem: w2w exclusive dungeon design.

I didn't lose any argument. I wasn't even part of that argument. Hell, I haven't even posted in that thread!

The thread seemed to be set up by someone seeking confirmation bias to support her view that what she and others are doing (being toxic) is okay and not toxic. Your post here kind of supports that notion.

My post here was to see if neutral parties that had no bias or skin in the game either way agreed or not. So far, they are not seeming to agree with the OP of that thread or the echo chamber posters in that subforum...
