Player Housing
I must say, as a new player coming from other MMOs, the housing system in this game is terrible. Leaving someone's ability to get a piece of land up to chance, this late in the game's lifecycle screws 99% of the population. It baffles me that SE hasn't figured out a way where you can buy a plot in an area you would like in 2023, and other games did it in 2014.
There's not much I dislike about this game, but housing is a big feels bad.

They just recently increased plot amount and alot of people got houses a couple of months ago without needing to gamble with other players.
You'd be surprised if I told you that just a couple of patches ago the one who spammed the purchase sign the fastest got the plot so there were multiple people from the same group with auto-clickers spamming the signs.
Which meant it was pointless to even try and get a house if you're just a regular player.
The roulette system is not optimal, but it prevents auto-clickers from literally owning the entire district.
They've stated this before I think, but alot of the server stuff is based on an almost decade old hardware which prevents them from doing certain things.
Lastly, player housing wasn't even thing in the base game, but was released in the 2.1patch with first alliance raid content. Meaning, it's supporting pillars are 10years old now.
The fact that it still functions as a system and not implode is a miracle on it's own.
Should they maybe rework housing with more modern takes on instanced housing, maybe. But is it #1 on their list when they just introduced private islands to all players?
Hell no.

LOTRO which is a much older game on a much worse engine is able to provide houses to all its players. You might not get the exact plot you want but if you want a house of a certain size in a certain area you can buy it. Seems the world's largest MMO should be able to do the same when they use the same kind of instanced neighborhood system.
