Was thinking one way to encourage active participation but also not force FOMO, beyond all the systems we already have, and perhaps the other thread I posted with PvP gear- is by allowing players to choose their reward at the given milestones.
The easy example would be milestone 25. Previously we had an armor, then a mount, and an armor again. Instead of it being fixed, I think it would be nice if players could choose from the milestone 25 rewards. So lets say it's series 8, some years from now, and a new player joins- if they really wanted they could choose the dragon mount as their series 25 reward.
Not entirely necessary but another level to that if you wanted to potentially allow players to catch up is once you hit 30 you can choose to start over with double progression costs (meaning each level takes more exp, if it was 5000 exp before it's now like 7500 or 10000- further removing FOMO and yet still encourage players to keep playing). If none of that, I just wanted to say I don't like FOMO lol. Things can be delayed, but in the end I generally think everything should be obtainable.
For older gear, like top 100s - we all know about the win trading (not that everyone did that)- if SE wanted they could even have that in play here (though not the primary focus of the thread), by make it a challenge but 'obtainable' by making those things only accessible on a 'new game+' of the series (you hit 30, and then reset the board for higher exp costs and hit 25 again and new exclusive to 'new series+' options are available). May need to consider the consequences of the token reward rate, but that's easily addressable.
The other things like kits could also be part of this (like the kit around series level 10), get to level 10 pick a kit.
Naturally this is all also assuming each new series comes out with new things, I don't want to see it turn into a loop with no new content.. I just think it would be a nice opportunity, even if it's just the first part of this post (choose one reward at the milestone, one and done- wait till next series to choose again).

Honestly would like if they add a new NPC in 6.4 that sells the old Series 1 items for Crystal Trophies. Then when 6.5 drops they add the Series 2 items and so on, so the old items get added around 1 year after being in the battlepass.
Old players get the reward early and can spend the trophies on new items, while new players or those that didn't get the reward back in the days have to decide on where to spend their trophies, new or old items. -

I was very happy about most ideas, but you lost me at Top 100 rewards being redistributed, wintrading as a cited reason or not.
Im only ok with that stuff being redistributed for glamour purposes if at least one of these criteria has been met:
- individual armoursets per character get their Rank 1-100 inscribed into the name while new versions are rankless
- original sets gets a quality change (blue, purple or maybe make a new one like yellow/gold)
- call redistributed sets "weathered" or "replica" -

I don't like the idea of battle passes or fear of missing out (FOMO). They should just archive all PvP rewards, so you can buy them at a later date. Similar to what most MMORPGs do. Outside of feats of strength like getting top 100 or achieving a certain rank. They should have their own exclusive rewards.

They can definitely simply allow purchase later, I had kept the pass structure to simply hopefully avoid issues with people who didn't want a feeling of value lost, while also maintaining a sense of progression and structure (since the battle pass is a sort of exp bar). I like the idea of the added structure/ progression but if the solution was to allow people to buy them normal- *snaps fingers* im in lol.
Also offer a lot of ideas in hopes SE and people jive with one, since most things can be solved in more than one method.

As it stands, I've counted and seen the hellhound armor (easiest for me to spot) a grand total of 3 times over the last 1000 FL/RW, 2 of which were the same person in the span of a few days. Of course the latest ShB set is more common but over time they become rarer and rarer and it's a shame they become nowhere to be seen anymore.
Especially since some of them add proper armor for healers. -

honestly, kinda not caring about this anymore since we will probably get them in the series pass just slightly altered, false monarchy was basically the grey hound set with a better helmet lol
