I think the next job clue might be related to the Scouting Gear

I didn't think about it till now, but given the devs let Reaper have the maiming gear, and it was exclusive to the Dragoon for quite some time, I'm wondering if the next job is gonna be built around the scouting gear? Its clearly going to be a DPS hopefully, I can't think of much Jobs that would make sense for it other than Beastmaster or a new original job Yoshi wants to do.

Its likely going to be Physical Ranged.

I think somewhere down the line we might get one more tank, healer, and Magical Ranged DPS if every job role is going to be matched up to 5 choices (since there is 5 melee) within the next 10 years if this game keeps going?

Yes, scouting has been widely speculated for that reason. We will definitely get a DPS job because as Yoshi-P has previously said, DPS is the most popular role.

We had a tank and a healer in the last two expansions so we are probably back to Stormblood era where it's just DPS.

It could be argued that we have 5 melee DPS and 6 ranged DPS, so a melee DPS makes more sense if the intention is to balance it.

Individually among the 6 ranged DPS, there are only 3 ranged physical and 3 (non-limited) ranged magical DPS, so it depends how you look at it.

I still wish for gear sets merge, nearly half of them are just reskins anyways. Scouting merged into Aiming, and Striking merged with Maiming. If 7.0 brings a caster (with 2nd job being nearly guaranteed tank), we will have nice and smooth 5/4/4/4/4 split.

Now we have 7 sets with 4/4/2/2/1/3/3 split, with usually only 4 models and 3 reskins.

But yeah, that's not gonna happen, gearing would be way too fair and convenient.

Not likely to see strictly 2 DPS in an expansion again after stormblood considering what it did to all the DPS queue times for the first few months after the expansion launched. They might have even gone as far as to say they'd never do it again.

However atm I feel like the next DPS job will be a scouting job simply because only 1 job uses that gear set which seemed to be one of the driving reasons we got Reaper in Endwalker. Part of me would also say we need another job that uses bludgeoning/blunt damage as well looking at physical damage types (since the game at least started with the differentiation even though it doesn't really matter now since they removed any buffs or mechanics that used physical damage types). Still. That could give us a scouting job using tonfa or nunchucks... though I'd prefer swordchucks... chuck norris doesn't look good in a nun costume... >.>

Oh, how clever of you. I mean I don't want to be rude, but you're also like the millionth person to show up on the forums screaming, "The next job, it's using scouting gear! It's going to use scouting gear! I'm telling you right now, I predicted it would be using scouting gear!"

Aaaaaand then when 7.0 comes out and the next job inevitably uses scouting gear we'll get to see every thread about it dug up so people can pat themselves on the back for their predictions.
