Make Borderland Ruins (Secure) Great again(?)

My favorite PvE mode in the game honestly. Who honestly has fun on this map besides people getting cheese cliff kills? I certainly don't. Especially not 20 minutes of this boring, "Go left, Go right, Go to the middle." nonsense. I thought this was pvp?

I propose simple changes to make it mildly more entertaining for the vast majority of us sweaty pvp degenerates that suck at Crystaline Conflict and have to play cheese classes to "pwn duh newbs" for a fat kill death ratio on front lines.

Knock the spire down. Thats right. That spires coming down. I don't want to see monks shedding tears over their cliff kills, you still have shatter.

Instead of drones spawning in the middle every 3 or so minutes, instead I'd rather have an elevated platform with 3 bridges that would serve as a King of the hill zone. Now you have to decide whether to contest middle, or capture, and hold the 2 bases next to yours. Worried about your base being camped? Your team isn't going to hold the middle if it's got zero reinforcements coming in. No more evading PvP with the other two teams, no more flying off cliffs, and a more interesting challenge.

And I think we deserve better rewards for this map. A handful of boring titles? No thank you. I want sexy items to slam in the glamour chest and never apply to a glamour plate. Give us a mount to flex with. Make the Carteneau flats great again... Assuming this was ever a great map.

It's getting removed soon, and hopefully revamped and re-released as a more fun map.

They did/said the same thing about the Astralagos map. Its been almost a decade of waiting. Consider it gone for good.

My hope is that the removal is for a rework. My guess is that it's for updates to the scoreboards or scoring methods since it's secure and shatter. Sadly, there is no reason for them to spend time on Astralagos because Rival wings sees so little engagement. To be fair however most of that lack of engagement is their fault.

The devs pretty much ruined the intended match flow when they added respawn invincibility with 4.56.

The meta now is that you don't go for another teams home base due to opposing players being able to defend the base without taking damage.

The points you get from holding bases increases exponentially. Holding 3 bases only give you 4 points per server tick. 1600 needed to win takes into account that teams may/should hold 4+ bases throughout the match. This isn't happening due to respawn invincibility.

This causes matches to drag on for far longer than intended. Secure is the only map that has the tendency to go the entire 20min match duration.

At this point, Astragalos only exist so they can load the map for the introduction cutscene.

Install guard rails.

I can't imagine them permanently removing borderland ruins, unless they decide to pull some stupid lore reasons out and be like "Nah, we're not interested in this zone all 3 of us GC's contest anymore."
