Mount heads being unproportionately small

Hi, while this issue has been the case for quite some time, Endwalker extremes made it really pop out.
The mounts look mostly great, however many of them share this one detail that is just bad.
The head size - for example, why the lynx mount's head look as if it was 2-3 times too small? Why do we have a house cat head on a body of a tiger?
A quick journey to paint reveals that they would look so much better if they got sized properly, so why aren't they so?
