INSTALLED BUT WILL NOT LOAD - CANT PLAY

Hi Guys,

My Harddrive was recently wiped and i had to re-install FFXIV.

Now when i click on my desktop icon i get the message:

"FINAL FANTASY XIV has stopped working
Windows is checking for a solution to the problem"

My CP Specs:

HP ENVY 15
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5830 Series
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU
Q 720 @ 1.60GHz 1.60 GHz
RAM 8.00 GB
64 - bit Operation System

I appreciated any help i can get.

I see this error on my laptop whenever I forget to enable the discrete graphics card. Maybe you need to install drivers for yours? I think you can use your specific model number (should be on a sticker somewhere on your laptop) to look up drivers on HP's website. If that fails, look up your graphics card on AMD's website.

Did you successfully complete running the config utility and do a screen set up?

Make sure you have updated your DirectX drivers. That solved that problem for me in the past.

i updated DirX but didnt help.

I wasnt able to get that far.

The config outside the game. Doing that usually fixes it for many people.

The config is actually separate from the actual game. You will find it in the Square Enix folder in your start menu.

When i click on the FFXIV config app all that comes up is a small window that reads similar to:


[][][][][[][]XIV[][][][][][][][][]

OK


i click OK but then it just disappears. I tried right clicking and running the 'compatibility issue' but didn't help.
