Leveling Conjurer
Is there some sort of trick to leveling Conjurer solo before you can easily pick up partys? I've tried spamming leves but compared to doing them with a melee class they just lack the stopping power and every little fight turns into a battle of attrition and i end up just spamming much lower level leves to get slightly faster XP.

You should get THM to at least 10 to use Thunder and Fire alongside Aero and Stone if you plan to solo

Second wind helps too. and featherfoot. Perhaps find a fellow lowbie DoW to help you

Been using fire, thunder, featherfoot and second wind, to little help generally heh.
Guess I should just make a decent PT

Try doing leves in a different area. Some leves have long stretches of enemies that resist specific elements you can use. Once you can get Gnats in leves or can kill wolves in random camps you can murder them with stone quite easily.
Also make sure you have cleric stance up at all times.

Well I guess it's off to Nophica's Wells with me then

Yeah, generally you'll want to fight monsters that are lightning based (use earth), fire based (use aero), or water based (use lightning from THM). You do NOT want to fight monsters that are earth based (they resist both earth and lightning), or wind based (they resist aero). You CAN use fire against ice-based mobs, but make sure not to get yourself killed with the AoE.
That's not to say you CAN'T kill monsters that resist these, but they're going to lower your DPS options and/or put a bigger drain on your resources. On that note, feel free to pull out your weapon, especially if using a wand and shield. Shield blocks don't stop you from casting, and in either case it's a little bit more DPS. Just a little, but DPS is DPS is DPS. It does stop you from regenerating MP, but I'm pretty sure that doesn't happen if you've got enmity anyway. Just put it away between fights.

Yep, pull out your weapon when soloing for random blocks and parries. You can use any shield abilities or Foresight from other classes to help out.

When should you transition to party play?
I'm about 17CNJ, and i can solo fairly easy, it's just boring. i'd like to play with some peeps rather than just cast stone at things all day.

There's no "transition level" in this game like there is in FF11. If you can find anyone to group with at any level, go ahead and do it.
