The "smiling citizen" Miqo'te from the current Hatching-tide event has new glasses that are marked as a custom model according to game info websites. It looks similar to the glasses from the Varsity Cap but with thicker frames and no hat.
There are still a few other recent-ish pieces I've seen on NPCs that haven't been available in-game, so I hope they're on the way.
On a second look with an alt, she also has unique boots. Garland Tools auto-guesses them to be "fur-lined gazelleskin boots" but they don't have the fur edging on them, so either it's an altered version of the model or something else entirely.
I am very ready for more glasses. The varsity ones would have been perfect if Square didn’t throw a pancake at my head with them.
