As the title suggests, I lag and/or Dc when my wife logs out (we play on separate pcs) and vice versa, it's very annoying and unfortunate if one of us is in a raid/dungeon. Any idea what could be causing this and if there is a fix?

In order get a better sense of the issue, could you please provide the following information:
- Platform (PC, Steam, PS4/PS5 or Mac):
- Any error codes or messages you receive upon disconnect:
- Type of connection (wired or wireless):
- Other programs running while the game is playing (if any):
- Frequency at which error occurs (If this occurs during specific hours, please provide the date(s), time and timezone):
- Are there other programs being used when running FFXIV?:
We would also like to ask what have you tried so far to alleviate the issue:
We do hope we can be of assistance in helping you enjoy the exciting world of Final Fantasy XIV!
-platform- pc using steam
no error codes that i have noticed, just says "you have been disconnected from server"
Both pcs are wired connected
the only program either of us has on is discord
and the lag and or dc's happen every time one of us logs off while the other is still playing, and I mean every time.
haven't tried anything as of yet, because I'm super technical when it comes to pc, nor have found anyone else with this issue to troubleshoot.
Do you have uPnP (Universal Plug and Play) enabled on your internet router? Could be when your wife logs off/shuts down it's trying to close ports on there and causing your game to lose connection? (My brother in law had a similar issue with WoW a fair number of years ago that turned out to be uPnP).
I recently had to reset the router to factory settings, forgot my password, but uPnP is on now, and we did a couple tests, so far it seems like it's fine now, but will keep an eye on it, Thank you so much! I think it was the uPnP being off before i did the factory reset.
It was the uPnP causing it, Thank you all so much!
Greetings,
