Lightning Weather Effect in game

Hello, I currently play with my partner who has photosensitive epilepsy, she wanted to play the game and so we have been generally making it possible for her to experience as much as possible. However, we have since arrived in the Stormblood expansion and there is a story duty that must be done to continue that has sever lightning weather effects that cause the entire screen to flash, is there anything that can done to perhaps turn off those effects? if nor why not?
