Misused word in Loporrits Tribal Quest: Too Few Cooks

In the first step of the Too Few Cooks quest, the following text is spoken (directly pasted from the game):

Managingway: Certainly. Ahem! Consider, if you will, the traditional Loporrit diet─carrots, carrots, and more carrots. Many of us, myself included, have in fact subsided exclusively on carrots.

Regarding the bolded part, none of the definitions of "subsided" match the connotation of the text here and the quest's premise. I believe the intended word here was "subsisted", with one of the definitions being "to have or acquire the necessities of life (such as food and clothing)... especially: to nourish oneself" (according to Merriam-Webster).
