Summoner Idea to save endangered job.

As some of you may know, Summoner, if anything, will be dumbed down with the primals going AWOL. In order to save the endangered classic, I wish to suggest a new form of summoning.
Instead of the Summoner summoning a separate entity they would envoke the essence of the primal into themselves. This would cause the Summoner to sprout horns, claws, and a tail if Ifrit is envoked. The summoner would turn red and glow with lit embers.
Each primal would have a set attribute; Ifrit: STR, Garuda: Int, Titan: Vit, etc. The sub primals, like moogle, would be a mixture. Doing this would allow a summoner to specialize in a single primal, yet they would be able to envoke them all after each condition has been met.
That being said, I would suggest a separate magic class for the Summoner Job with CON/THM as subs.

Summoner isn't "endangered", just because the main Primals won't be a job specific spell doesn't mean the job is being dumbed down. Speculating at this point is silly, but more than likely Summoner, if it indeed is going to be an eventual class, will probably act like they did in XI and X where they will summon a pet and use their abilities in combat. There are SOOOO many summons in the Final Fantasy series and with artwork shown of Typhoon, Fenrir and Cait Sith, those could easily be great summon pets.

Plus the survey said a pet class (like summoner) so the Dev team has Summoner under a pet class category.

jeez did people not read Yoshis interviews, Summoner is going to get Lesser Primals.

I see ^.^, It still takes the classic summoner off the table. I don't mean to offend or even bring up a defensive position, Just running an Idea by. Since summoner will no longer be able to summon their staples, regardless if they are implemented or not in the future. I just thought if they were to implement it, they should find a way to bring the classics into the circle of SMN powers. Dumbed down is a bit excessive, lets say the loss of the "Classic FF Summoner". I'm sure they would have awesome powers. I also know it is under pet class ^.^. I just know i would be jonesing for my Shiva :p. thank you :D

maybe not a summoner per se, but i think you've stumbled upon a GENIUS idea for a new type of Blue Mage. Lets call it a "Weremage"!

I still think in order for a free company to use a primal once it's captured in ver. 2.0, that a SMN should be required. That would still allow SMN's to utilize the traditional summons and not break the lore.

With that in mind, it goes to say that yes, only one Summoner on an entire server could summon a main primal such as Ifrit, Shiva, Ramuh, etc.. at a time.

ive spoken on this topic before. such an action could be similar to former limit breaks; Yuna's "High Summon" comes to mind.

I say wait until they reveal how Summoner works first then give feedback heh

Yea, and how awesome would it be to know your the SMN summoning Ifrit, and the entire freaking world just turns red/fire like. Of course there would have to be some large cool down, and perhaps some kind of limit break bar that would need to be filled, but regardless I think it makes more since than just anyone being able to summon a high primal.

Its still fun to talk about and give insight, no? Who knows they might just get an Idea from someone and add it into the game. Either way I can't wait for the official statement that say's they are releasing SMN if at all. ZOMG! <3
