I don't see them adding anymore languages at this point in the game's life.
same reason there is no spanish support.
is a shame becose a game like these must have the principal languages, like other games have .
Not enough of a Portuguese player base to justify the cost.
Same as Spanish, we are begging for Spanish language since 1.0
Money isn't an excuse when FFXIV is the most played MMO of the world and Spanish playerbase is huge
They translated the game into French and German because laws in such countries force them to do it, if not, would be English and anything else
Money is very much an excuse at this point in the development cycle.
The entire game from 2.0, every bit of text, every voiced cutscene, every tooltip, attackname etc. would need to be translated and/or localised - and every voiced cutscene would require a whole cast of high quality voice actors, which will take a ton of time, auditions and takes to produce the entire voice acting required for all the scenes.
Unless you are willing to settle for non-voiceacted scenes or english-dub-hispanic-subtitles aka textbox, it is an insane amount of workload and money for an uncertain amount of additional income from properly supporting the hispanic playerbase.
I totally get wanting to get the support, but from a company standpoint it is a high-risk investment for an unknown revenue.
I would like to see that particular law. If it exists I never heard of it.
The truth is, Germany is seen as a test bed for Europe. And they are used to having everything dubbed. Good luck bringing out a movie and leave it in the original language or just sub it. The vast majority won't bother with it then.
