7.0: Maybe I'm Alone in This

As the title suggests, I have this thought, opinion, whatever, and I've no idea if anyone else feels the same way. In regards to 7.0, if the devs came out and said there would be no level increase. No additions to the existing toolkits, yeah? But that, in lieu of this, there would be a greater focus on animation overhauls and fine tuning what's already there (tweaking, removing, etc.), I think that'd be a-okay. I'd even go so far as to say I'd prefer that approach. Almost certain it won't happen, though.

Well they focus on the graphic update a lot so I can imagine they will also touch some of the clunky animations, Im happy for no more level increase, if I had to level up melee to 100 Id die ;___;

I would be absolutely fine if there was no level increase, or new jobs for that matter. That is only the case however if they did some major work to diversify the existing job's playstyles again.


If all we got was the current Endwalker state of combat, with some minor tweaks to jobs as they currently play, then I would absolutely be gone. I'm more than sick of the lackluster new direction for job design that was introduced with Shadowbringers but somehow became even worse in Endwalker.

I'd prefer fun jobs and less number slaving to appease a vocal minority, yes, but I think from a PR perspective it doesn't sound terribly exiting. Here is Startrunner but now with fun jobs. Not sure how that's gonna fly. It's kind of expected from MMOs to have new zones and jobs. To be fair, some reworks like SMN might as well be a new job.

Each expansion, they re-invent the wheel by culling abilities and adding new ones gained through ten additional levels. As a Ninja, it feels like with each expansion we've only found our "groove" after the X.2 set of patches, thanks to the development team somehow breaking stats and not properly balancing- something many other jobs also complain about.

Would I like to see a change to this method? Oh, absolutely. I just don't know how they could to it without changing up how they approach the main scenario quests, since their leveling system provides a clear sense of progression with each expansion. The level/dungeon/trial order is now completely predictable, but it has proven to work.

I think it would be interesting to see how they might handle a different approach, but I'm also uneasy about them screwing everything up as a result.

Level increase was confirmed. Yoshi commented he would like to see something different beyond that.

Yeah, they plan to go up to 100, its the leveling beyond they are unsure of, but theyll most likely level squish, most folks arent really a fan of master systems.

If they don't want to go past level 100, they should end the storyline and start whole new one years later where you start back at level 1. But if you play the old storyline, you back to the level you were. I played another online game that did this, so they didn't have to go past level 100.

I'm kinda hoping for a time skip but once you go back to old areas you also go back in time because reasons.

A friend of mine also likes the idea of job mastery (pretty common in FF) where upon reaching lvl 100 you are done but start with a new job at 1 in the next expac.
Would work well with a time skip.

We're already starting a whole new story in 7.0
