Independent Weapon Off-hand Glamours

Could've sworn I'd already seen a thread on the subject, but (an admittedly quick) search turned up nothing so...

I think we should be able to choose the appearance of Main and Off-hand weapons independently, on those Jobs where it's applicable. Chief among them would probably be ROG/NIN (HW Thancred was such a tease), but it's RDM that prompted me to make this thread actually!

As things stand, PLD is the only "dual wielding" Job afforded this privilege, and while I'm aware its main and off-hand are separate items (unlike the aforementioned), I still think that shouldn't be an excuse. The technical side of things is for the devs to grapple with, ultimately...

Would be awesome but devs are far more likely to combined shield and sword into 1 weapon, they really... hate the offhand... >.<

I believe there is, or it has come up in a topic in either first, second or third page.

it would create more diversity in glamour, but again it's linked to glamour, which increases slots space needed, and storage.
Hopefully by 7.0, they blow our minds with changes to the foundational systems.[but again, I'd be accused of crafting cope out of hope.jk]

People have brought up how Gearing will be affected or stats. and I'd imagine many things will be reduced to Coffers/Crafted Coffers. and then there are the classes without multiple items, or SGE with a more than Two items[though I imagine the Quad-Penta Legends would flex it on SGE]

I personally find it unlikely, unless the game has drastic improvements, but it's a huge undertaking with their split dev time.
[though I ain't one to deny people to dream, but this one would carry potential consequences to balance it.]

It would be nice in a game with infinite inventory space, but in the current system it wouldn't be nice enough to justify the inventory bloat.

This sounds like an interesting idea though I have many doubts this would ever actually occur. I agree with a comment above of the devs being more likely to link PLD pieces than separate others. This did make me think of MCH and how much I wish their little box changed with each/most guns.

The fact that it would kill shield glamours is probably the only reason they haven't done that already.

Crazy how that goes, huh...

New dual-wielding melee DPS announced, so naturally it got me thinking about this again... shame it'll probably never happen...

As an aside. Terribly disappointed that the new job is getting a gabranth style weapon but is a melee dps when the gabranth armour set is tank! Maybe PLD can get a parrying blade as a shield glam? Or more likely, we can get all jobs reskins of the bozja judge armours.
