So I came back to the game about a week ago and I'm managing OK with all of the very nice new stuff. I leveled up to about 15 and I found exp starting to get pretty slow, so I looked up stuff and found out about the dungeon Shposhae. I tried to find some people to do Shposhae for about an hour in Ul'dah and maybe I just picked the wrong time but I didn't even any kind of response. I saw a shout for a linkshell that was modest enough so I thought I would join up, and maybe find some new friends to perhaps play with (I'm on Ragnarok). I've tried to make small talk and asked around if anyone wanted to duo or something (nothing like POWERLEVEL ME NAOZ!!!!!!) and I get no response. I tried each day only about once or twice for 3 days to similar results.
I guess what I'm trying to say here is, I'm kinda defeated. I don't know anyone irl who is playing this game right now nor does anyone who I've played games with before want to play. I'm kinda just looking for a nice friend or two to perhaps play with every now and then; maybe even a guild of people like this. I feel like it might become like FFXI where everyone is higher level now, so no one can be bothered to do anything but endgame. And I know I can level solo and do crafting and gathering and all that, but I kinda just want some friends because that's what makes games like this so great and lasting. I'm pretty much willing to give up all the progress (albeit very little) and fresh start on a new server just to accomplish this.
So if anyone has any suggestions or w/e feel free to post them..... even though by now I just sound like a whiny little prick/ friendless emo or w/e (>.>) .

I noticed you're on Ragnarok, which is the dedicated European server.
I suggest trying out something like Balmung or Durandal. -

I'm from the EU, and since my recent return to the game, I have found Balmung to be a very thriving and friendly place, even during what's normally considered off-peak hours.

You can't search by timezone, as all servers bar Ragnarok are intended to be multiple regions.
You pretty much can't go wrong with any server, although you might some better to you're liking. -
