Island Sanctuary.... hmmm

I was hopeful to see an update, until I realised have to get to level 12 with practically nothing to earn XP except gathering. 42000 xp at 10 a pop? 4200 items to get to 11, lord knows how many for 12... No quest to assist?


Does SE really think this is engaging gameplay? Banging things 8-10 thousand times?

You gain exp more or less passively by caring for your animals, plants and the workshop.

It is not meant to be grinded out just by gathering.

But of course you have the option to grind to get the new stuff immediately.

Crafting items (traps/feed/etc) can also give you some additional XP.

It's time to eat them summit's rocks, comrades!

(I'm rank 11 now thanks to that and saving 3 days workshop)

I have those on auto, but not to get too excited they only offer 20 xp a piece and a limited amount per day, just a few hundred extra XP. I had no idea you got XP from the workshop though, thought that was just the cowries.

It's a first and foremost source of exp. Half of a level in one day, and that's without gathering in a wild. Just gathered animal and crop materials and grabbed my sweet cowries from C5-C7.

IS ranks are earned slowly over time by doing stuff on the island, you're not supposed to max the whole thing in a few hours. Sure, you can gather thousands of mats if you're impatient, have fun with that, lol.

For those looking to relax, it is engaging gameplay. They'll get their levels a little at a time as they feel like working on their Sanctuary.

For those who like to rush to max level then complain about a lack of things to do, Island Sanctuary was never intended to be satisfying content. As YoshiP said, some players have no idea how to relax.

There's no need to rush through this content so why rush?

Oh here we go again. IS is such a barebones gathering/clicking simulator that it's just not fun for many people. Heaven forbid we get in and out as quickly as possible so we can move onto things we actually do enjoy.

You don't get to decide what is relaxing to me, YoshiP doesn't get to decide what I consider relaxing, *I* get to decide what is relaxing to me.

Anyhoo, I got my shinies, so I guess I'm off to go complain about a lack of content now! ::eyeroll::
