Ascians, part of a cutscene in the level 30 main scenario (Toll of the warden - cutscene 6)

A brief and creepy appearance. It's mere presence was enough to send the stubborn Ixal and Amalj'aa fleeing in the cutscene. It's seems to chill the very air around it (demonic whispers linger). It seems to be a race of demons rather than an actual character,

Would have surely thought they would have been seen again since its dramatic appearance so long ago.

Have i missed something.. or does it seem that SE have forgotten about them? Is this one of those, Tanaka shadow's we sometimes encounter? (Parley ect)

I really hope they play some part on the 7th umbral or some kind of main story miniboss or something, its a neat model and looks appropriate for an "end of the world"/fallen angel kind of look.

Your thoughts?

The demon might be the one pulling the strings, since this is alrdy noted as a spoiler this is a spoiler relating to the latest GC mission.

Upon completion it pretty much goes that they don't think the Emperor is pulling the strings so it must be someone else pulling the strings behind Legatus Nael van Darnus or it could even be him taking the form of Legatus Nael van Darnus.

Looking at the helmet I can't help but feel that there is a bit of a similarity of their shape

But ya, good catch I completely forgot about this CS, should really take the time to look through the Main scenario lol. It is possible that he'll have a connection to the main plot and most likely with the battle we're suppose to be having come 1.23 we'll find out who's the one that's manipulating Nael to "purify" Eorzea.

Mmmmm true. The fact that its face is completely masked from view also suggests a camoflouge sort of thing (hiding its true face)..

If this wasn't a SE game I wouldn't think anything of it, but we all know their long history with hooded villains turning out to be someone we already know.

I would say they are part of the main storyline and with this on hold until 2.0

Well, there's a chance for the 7th umbral era to end with a link to the main storyline...but Darnus being an Ascian is extremely unlikely. Working with or for one, that could be the case.

Ascian maybe a ghost of Allagan civilization?

Not sure if its coincidence or not.. but those bone Wings and Legatus Nael van Darnus Helmet.. the pointy part on both sides of the Helmet are nearly or exactly the same....

I'm sorry, but I really don't see it. I easily see the comparison between the legatus and the Ultima/Omega artwork, but I think people are trying to see something that just isn't there in this case.

That's fine, I just thought I point out a potential comparison is all =).

I'm actually leaning toward that the ascian is a succubus turned lich, as the two look very similar in appearance. Would also explain its demonic presence.

Undead demon? sounds deadly :D
