I tried to find a post already asking for this, but it's so incredibly frustrating to be able to hop to other worlds and data centers and make friends, but to only be able to message them when you're on that specific world? I know CWLS are a thing, but not everyone wants to create a single CWLS for 2 people.
You already can. /t character@server
Or right click from your friends list and select tell.
Except when you do that it says "Message to character@server could not be sent." Even when you double check with them that they're just standing in the city and aren't message blocked. Tested with multiple different characters on different worlds and data centers.
Cross-world Tells already work. If it didn't then how would you message groups on Party Finder from other worlds. Tells don't work if someone is in an instance, so I assume the people you tested it on where in an instance or in a zone they couldn't be contacted from. Just gave it a go and was able to /tell someone on Phantom when I'm on Spriggan.
Cross-datacentre Tells would be nice however it's still new so that may be a feature in the future, along with making Party Cross-DC.
