Suggestion To Make The World Feel More Alive For New Players

Hey there!

I don't know if this has been asked before here but, thought I'd make a suggestion to help the earlier open world zones from ARR to Stormblood feel more alive. Would it be possible to implement the Shared Fate system into those zones so new players can have even more options to get I dunno Aetheryte tickets or materials for earlier relics with Bicolor Gemstones? I think it would help the world feel even more alive with new players running around together with veterans doing FATE's together and everyone benefits from doing them. I don't know the implications of this but, thought I'd bring it up anyway.

I think that would be a great idea. Aetheryte tickets, some music, a minion and some area themed housing decorations, would all make the areas worthwhile again.

No one cares about FATEs outside of the first two weeks of an expansion or whenever Square just puts massive rewards behind them (no, they can't keep on doing that for literal years of expansion's shelf life). It's a system that should have been scrapped and replaced with something functional since Stormblood.

I don't see SE changing the reward system for the pre-Endwalker FATEs. They aleady reward GC Seals in addition to gil and XP and those are useful for a lot of things like ventures, dark matter, crafting materials, some of the materials required for the ARR relics, etc.

You mean you don't care. Plenty of other players still run FATEs on a regular basis for various reasons.

I was doing FATEs recently to do another ARR relic. So was a friend of mine. Then they were doing them for their HW relic. People do them all the time, regardless of how old the content is.

I like fates. They're a nice way to level while waiting for my queue to pop. I like the share fate rewards, and earning them all was satisfying. Just because You aren't any good at a certain piece of content, doesn't mean other players don't enjoy it.

SE has already addressed most of what is wrong with FATEs in the earlier expansions. They scale based on how many players have been clearing FATEs. The only FATEs that can't be solo'd easily are the "boss FATEs" but those have 30 minutes and you might be able to convince friends, FC members, or strangers via PF. There are also those two FATE chains in SB and ShB that might pose some difficulty in the later stages of the chain. From my experience, I had no problems getting people to come help with the last 25% of the chain through FC/NN/PF by mentioning there was an achievement awarded at the end.

We might see some random event that requires clearing FATEs in old zones, but it is old content and mostly dead and will stay that way.
