MSQ keeps crashing my game

Every quest so far from the lv 80 MSQ post story quest Echos of a Fallen Star has either crashed my game or closed it without an error report. Im playing on the Jenova server currently and cannot complete the MSQ

It is going to suck, but one suggestion is to reinstall the game. This can be easily done via the launcher > settings (at the top right) and there is an option to 'Restore Game Data'. This will redownload the game and hopefully fix the issue.

Apart from that, I have no idea what else could be done, someone else might have a less time consuming idea.

check your Windows Event logs, will tell you if something else is causing the crashing.

if the game is crashing with no error notifications, I suspect its another issue on the system

You can close the game and go to Documents\My Games, open the Final Fantasy XIV folder and find the CHAR folder that belongs to your Jenova character and move it somewhere else (such as the desktop). It will create a new CHAR folder when you login. It's possible the files in there have been corrupted which can cause the game to crash when using certain parts of the user interface or logging in.

You could try reducing your system settings. The game uses 64-bit now so it can crash the game if you still use 32-bit.

I can do literally Everything else in the game except the MSQ, as soon as a cutscene starts its an instant kick from the game with it closing down as if i hit the X to close the game window itself,

Have you updated your drivers? example for Nvidia?

That points to the MSQ cutscene file being corrupted. Doing the "Restore game files" would be the best first choice. After that, come back if it persists and other suggestions might help.

drivers are all up to date

it doesnt matter what character im on as some zones are just no go areas, including dungeons/cutscenes/msq

was the first thing i tried and its done nothing unfortunatly
