Tell me if you have been in this situation before: you're in the inn - because that's the only place you can use the glamour dresser - and you're making a new glam. This time though, outside of your usual dyes that you carry on you, you decide to experiment thouroughly with colors you've rarely worked with before. You finally pick one but unfortunately, you have to run out of the inn and travel to god knows where (if you're lucky, the dye you want is in the city state you're already in) just grab one or two and then run back to finish things up.
I think the glamour dresser needs a dye seller that somehow sells you any dye. You would still have to use the correct currency (like for example, gunmetal dyes can be bought only with fete scrips and more recently, island cowries) but at least, it'd be there for you to use within the immediate vicinity.
Now my first bs excuse to reason why there's a dye seller in the inn that can sell dyes from anywhere would be "allagans" but they've been overused to just about explain anything. Maybe Cid comes over and installs an Amazon style mammet that somehow connects through some aethernet.
Or just put a Super Dyemonger npc. Thoughts?

How about just allow the glamour dresser to hold dyes and just pull a beastman token thing on it. I wonder if they can even set up a system to trade in actual stack of dyes and turn them into a number on a UI on the glamour dresser.

Yes! But sadly some dyes are from beast tribes,retainers etc so we wont be able to get those ones from it. I like the idea of a dye storage system so we can store the dyes to use in the dresser and everywhere.

They could add a third bell to the inn room that summons a merchant who sells various common items, including dyes. They already have the tech set up to summon the hair stylist and retainers, just have one that summons a shop.

I go through this all the time. There are a lot of ways they can add QoL to dyes. If priority was to be given, I would start by eliminating the need to access outside resources to find out how to acquire a dye. Dealing with accessing in-game resources to locate a dye is much more favorable to having to drop my controller and hop on my laptop. If a dye is (restricted), I have to look up which tribe sales the dye I am after. Dyes that can only be crafted don't show up as anything. If it's not restricted, and there is no a shop price, it is likely crafted, but that's using process of elimination and is not guaranteed. Then you have the pure RNG dyes *sigh*
I've done this so much now, that I just know where to find all the dyes, but that's not something the devs can rely on to improve the QoL. Putting a vendor next to a dresser or a feature of the dresser would likely only eliminate the need to go to a vendor for the general dyes.
