Suggestion : Positional Text Indicator

The half circle target indicator is not enough to know exactly what the game considers side or back attack so I suggest a text UI element that allows you to see your position relative to your target. This idea comes from the Xenoblade series which would solve the issue of boss mechanics or evil red mage LB3 making the half circle not visible. You would know if you are front/side or back in text form.

They could probably do this entirely client side. It wouldn't be 100% accurate due to lag, but put that disclaimer on it.

There is a gap in the rear of the target circle. Inside that gap is "rear". Not in that gap is "flank". If there is no gap in the target circle then all positionals will automatically land and it doesn't matter. If you're forced to the front of the target, use True North.

You have about 7 seconds and a giant blue circle indicator on the ground when Verblinding Scourge is about to go out, which is plenty of warning to prepare to activate True North. But really it begs the question, if there is someone in the party who needs to be able to see the target circle for positionals, why is that person not using the LB instead of a caster?

I'm of the thought positionals will just be scrapped entirely at somepoint soon. more and more bosses and encounters don't have them anyways. and the impact from hitting them or missing them is borderline immeasurable..

A ninja missing positonals on armor crush loses a staggering 2 potency per second over the duration of an encounter. it's virtually inquantifiable as any dpsvariation you saw on a parse from such a deviation would just fall under "margin of error" allowed for rng crits, directs, latency etc,

between more and more encounters hving no positionals and hit boxes that cover 3/4 of the arena and the total lack of impact landing a positional actually has. id put money on them being scrapped entirely before long in the pursuit of accessibility and ever closing the skill gap.
