Some Suggestions for Improving Decorating
I've been in the game since housing was first introduced, and I've since had a love/hate relationship with the process of decorating. Firstly, I know the community has a lot of expert/professional level decorators that a light years beyond my capabilities, but for those of us who just want the process to be a bit less of a chore, I have a couple suggestions that I think, if implemented, would tremendously increase the level of design intricacies that are currently possible.
1) Selective Invisibility: while in the Housing >> Indoor Furnishings menu, you could be able to select any number of items already placed within your decoration space and choose that they be made invisible/ghosted while decorating. Too many times, we get items placed exactly where we want, but then while working on something else, they black whatever else we're working on. Trying to find that perfect camera angle can be extremely frustrating, in the very least. Couple this fix with...
2) Free-roaming camera: Uncouple the camera movement from the character completely. In fact, make it an option to render your character completely invisible. First person view does not suffice, as the camera is still bound to your character's location/movement. With a free camera (along with Selective Invisibility), we can always get the perfect angle of anything we want to put down, reducing headaches and bolstering productivity.
I don't know how difficult these would be to implement. I think #2 would be more troublesome than #1, but just think about how much more amazing designing a house would be~
