Can we separate gears used by SMN/RDM and BLM?

As a SMN player I'm tired of picking up gears without Spell Speed which obviously offer ZERO help to me. Like half of the gears you can get in this update offers Spell Speed simply because BLM needs to, which AFAIK is the only single job needing it in the whole game. Why not separating them then? It would definitely do better than now, since it's barely sharable already.

Spell Speed is still better for you than any RDM. Spell Speed might be good on p8s we don't know yet.

Half the gear has spellspeed on it, the other half will not. You can mix and match pieces to get 0 speed or whatever gcd your looking for. Now if we could just get rid of the crit from the raid staff please

Each job has some tomestone gear that they don't want and some raid gear that they don't want. This is standard for each tier. If you want non-spell speed tomestone gear, do the savage raids. And if you don't want to do the savage raids, the marginal increase from having BiS gear over full tomestone maxIL isn't going to make a meaningful difference in any content you do.

Man I wish a SMN weapon had spellspeed. None of them have any. With my gear path the highest my Spellspeed is gonna reach on SMN will probably be 2200ish. Probably so I can't reach 2500 for that sweet 50 second CD on Bahamut/Phoenix.

My current spellspeed is 1575 and B/P is at 55.20 second recast. By time each phase ends it only has a 40 second CD.

You don't have to go SpS on BLM. While BLM is currently the only caster that does scale well with it as all damage comes from GCDs, BLM scales really well with all substats and all the different sets are extremely close in terms of dps. Including the standard crit/ dh BiS other casters use. You'll reach the necessary SpS for some openers with an appropriate weapon, food and by swapping some small pieces like accessories easily.
I'd prefer if they didn't enforce BLM as the SpS class by seperating gear and keep it with SMN and RDM and you just pick whichever set suits your needs best. Just mix and match pieces to suit your need but if you want to play both RDM and BLM with a single set and get the most dps, go for crit BLM instead of SpS BLM. Both have their benefits, SpS isn't inherently superior to crit for BLM.

SMN actually is able to make use of spellspeed now. It wasn't the case in the past due to your major damage sources being ogcds/abilities, but everything in current SMN scales with it except for energy drain.

In some ways it's a good thing. It means that when you reach the 4th turn and want to clear, you can switch to a real job (black mage) without losing anything.

Even if they split them you'd still deal with the same problem so this is kind of a waste to ask this. They are going to have different sets with different substats. You're always going to have to mix your sets to get your BiS. Every stat based MMO does this to some extent.
