You people really can't live without this game, huh? I saw an internet article featuring a literal countdown till the patch is up. Go to bed, Americans. For the Europeans here, go to work. The game won't spontaneously drift off unto the Sleeping City of Ry'leh in the span of five hours.

Read the maintenance notice: the end time is subject to change.
The game often comes back from maintenance early.
And the client update is almost always available early; getting it early helps avoid the congestion that occurs at the end of maintenance.

Interestingly, SE posted that the client update was available 45 minutes after I did.
But at this time, the game itself is still under maintenance.

Sounds like a sign you need to cease logging on the very moment it goes up. :D

Save you a lot of misery, to be sure. A fair bit of forum complaints, too. ;3

I've made a fortune gathering new mats in the time between the actual end of maintenance and the scheduled end.

Game is up BTW.
