Personally, I would really dig playing a male Au Ra, but without the horns or tail...

No shade on the Au Ra or anything, but I've just found the horns and tail just clash with loads of glamours constantly.

I just changed from a Xaela to a Raen, because the Raen higher more of a rosy skin-tone option and the whites of their eyes are actually WHITE (the Xaela, their eyes are almost black). But I didn't realize just HOW much their horns and tails clash with so many of the armor sets in the game. Like... it's honestly pretty bad.

Personally? I would love a new "Clan" option for them, that just nixes the horns and tail, maybe even the scales, and give them more normal-looking ears. Or my personal preference, short pointed ears; not as long as Elezen or anything, but still short.

Not sure how or "why" you'd add this option, but man, I would LOVE that. To me, it would really just be the best of all worlds; the body-type and silhouette I think looks cool, without having to worry about what stuff "matches" my horns.

May I introduce you to, idk, Hyur Highlanders or Elezen? You're basically asking for a completely different race at this point

Elezen, I always found too skinny. And the Hyur... their standing and running animations just kinda bother me.

I've always gravitated towards bigger, dangerous-looking characters (Orcs, Barbarians, etc), and that's where Au Ra were kind of a perfect fit for me. Roe's and now Hrothgar, while LARGE, just feel a bit too "pudgy" or "cuddly", they don't feel genuinely dangerous, imo. They're just "chonky".

If anything, I'd almost prefer Au Ra being even a tiny be beefier, at least in their torso (their arms are already very muscular).

I certainly wouldn't be opposed to a new race. But it kind of sounds like they probably won't be doing any more races for FFXIV, given the obvious hurdles they've had with the Viera and Hrothgar.

Anyways, it's certainly not the biggest deal in the world or anything. Just saying, if I could have a character like the male Au Ra, but without horns and a tail, I would just be WAY happier with my character.

I love Highlanders so I'd be fine with that too.

I'm sure there are mods that remove Au Ra tails and horns
