Game Freezing
Hello!
I recently had to fresh reinstall my game, and now it's giving me an issue where it freezes every time I click on choose data center. It freezes to the point where I have to force close it via task manager. Any help with this would be appreciated!
I'd also like to note that when opening my game it's like it reverted to when I first installed it, asking me if I'd like to configure controller settings and stuff. Not sure if this is relevant.

You can try removing the games settings folder, in Windows 10 and 11 it is located in: Documents > My Games > Final Fantasy XIV.
I would first copy that folder and paste it some place else, then Delete it from inside My Games, and Launch the game, you'll have to redo the add SE account stuff, but once done login and see if its fixed.
If no change, just paste the old folder back.
Then I'd try turning off your modem for 60 seconds and back on, try login.

Unfortunately this didn't work, still getting a freeze in the same spot.

I would test the connection itself then, if you have a Phone with some data you can turn on "Hotspot" and connect your PC to your Phone's mobile connection and then login, move DC and see if it works.

Sadly this also didn't work :( I'm not sure what's wrong

In your My Games folder you can right-click the FFXIV folder and select Properties, then click on the Security tab, make sure everything but Special Permissions has a Check-mark next to the name, also check the files .CFG inside the FFXIV have the same Permissions as the Folder.
For example, it will say SYSTEM, and in the box below it'll have Read (Checked), Write (Checked) etc.
Also make sure while looking on the Properties' Security tab that ADMIN and your PC username has the same options Checked, if not click the Edit button above the box and turn them on.
They all need "Allow" to be Checked.

Okay I figured out my issue was my windows anti-virus was blocking certain functions. Not sure why it was freezing in that certain spot every time, but this is now solved!
