If each of the Scions took up a single gathering/crafting class...

What would they pick?

For some reason, I can see Thancred sort of enjoying being a botanist. xD

Y'shtola's pursuit of knowledge would definitely lean her toward alchemy.

Estinien would probably get carpentry or blacksmithing, if only to do maintenance on his own gear.

Alphinaud would probably be really into either alchemy or goldsmithing.

Alisaie would probably use mining for stress relief or to build muscle for red mage swordsmanship. I could also see her picking up weaving or leatherworking to make clothes for others (though she might not be patient enough for more elaborate garments).

Urianger... somehow I see him as a leatherworker or a carpenter to help him make books for others.

Thancred would be good at any of them, but I can't really picture him fixating on one craft.

Maybe Thancred would have crafting jobs focused on his job class and what types of little nick nacks and tools he needs for espionage? So, he could probably turn out being a Blacksmith for maintaining his gunblade, leatherworking to keep his clothes together, goldsmithing (and Blacksmith again) to create what little techno toys he needs for espionage and Culinarian as just an out of work personal hobby of his. For some reason, I can see him secretly doing this unknown to the other Scions besides Tataru, of course.

Urianger canonically made the wind-up Moenbryda doll so he's obviously got some little-mentioned crafting talents already. Definitely sewing, assuming they're soft dolls over a clockwork core, and maybe he did the clockwork (falls under goldsmithing) as well unless you can buy those mechanisms ready to decorate.

Small, intricate sort of work regardless of the exact choice of craft, anyway.

Tataru is an ommi-crafter.


Y'shotla and Urianger are too busy diving into a mountain of books to bother with crafting.


Estinien is a good botanist, being able to strike fear to the heart of high-hanged fruits. Perhaps he is interested in spearfishing too for his own supply of sun-dried squids.

Alphinaud and Alisae both dabble the art of succor (RDM also has heal and rez), so they may be interest in Alchemy for medicines.


Thancred is a survival type. He would make a good botanist, fisher and a culinarian to survive in the wilnderness.


Krille doesn't look like she would interest in any craft.
