RDM Magic Barrier
How do I use this correctly?
At this current time I just been using it when I see a tank who is getting ready to take a tank buster, also I use it right before a party wide AOE hits me & my group.
I want to play RDM correctly & not just hope I'm doing it right, any tips are appreciated.

That sounds about right. By the way, you’ll probably get better responses on the DPS board than on the General Discussion one.

Magicked Barrier only reduces magical damage by 10% but most tankbusters are physical while most raidwides are magical. The physical ones are generally "fairly" easy to spot and are things like stomps, tumults or dashes. Basically things that give off a brute force feeling.
So using them on raidwides is the best and safest option and because healers generally have to heal the party more than the tanks as well, so you're on the right track there.
Some examples from the current tier would be Ruby Glow, Venom Squall, Hemitheos Fire, Spark of Life, Genesis of Flame etc.
If you're doing fights multiple times it's also worth noting which ones hurt more than others, e.g. Ruby Glow hurts more than Sonic Howl.
And it's always nice to see a dps wanting to use their mitigation correctly, props for wanting to get the most out of that skill.

At a more advanced level, you want to time party mitigations so that they'll cover multiple hits and/or be off cooldown in time to mitigate during the most threatening instances of AoE damage, though that's something that needs to be learned on a fight to fight basis.

when I panic. :P
it should see a lot of use in seph unreal. Unless most of his AoEs are physical.
