Buff Scholar please SE. I'm begging you. :/

Barrier healing is rough as it is. As a Sage main, I want you to know that we NEED Scholar to be better. It is in rough shape, and whenever I get scholars, it seems that my runs always end up extra hard. I rarely see the job enough as it is. Please do better. ;-;

what happens in those runs that make it extra hard? because sch and sge are a godtier combo if they work together.

what do you mean? SCH is still the better barrier healer. either you just don't know how to heal properly with a SCH, or every single SCH you are getting doesn't know how to properly play their class. And as the person above me said, SCH/SGE combo is really good.

Scholar and Sage are very powerful, you just need to be good at those jobs.

Rather they had a very unfortunate run where a scholar died to every second attack. Just as example, if you die on sage 3 times in the fight and the scholar dies 6 times that's going to be a rough experience for the group.

only thing that makes barrier healing a bit rough is the cast times on adlo and succor imo.

if your newer to a fight and dont have the mechanincs fully down then even if you start casting succor the precise millisecond you see a bosses cast bar it's often already too late to shield that raid wide hit. a slightly faster cast time would at least give players more of a chance.

at the same time though it's not really a huge problem because that raid wide doesnt hurt to much anyway in 99.9% of the games content

Don't you know that SCH beats SGE way ahead for raiding?

I prefer to use a SCH. It's what I know and it has all the tools for any content I've done with it. Sometimes you have to combine two abilities if the healing demands more, but an SCH should be on top of that and not just relying on a single ability to solve the problem.

If it was that bad you could put up everything at once. Sacred Soil, summon Seraph, use Fey Illumination, Whispering Dawn, Succor and Expedient. At a certain point, if all of that isn't enough, maybe it's not the scholar's fault. Maybe the tanks aren't using Reprisal, maybe the DPS are not using Addle or Feint, maybe the party mitigations they have are not being used, maybe the tank didn't use a good enough mitigation.

SCH would be fine if someone let them shield :p
