Servers are up and im 800 in the que on the materia dead server?

Materia is growing quite nicely :)

223 right now and I started my morning on Lite doing my Island stuff. It's refreshing to see but still the DF will be the real litmus test and the sale of more housing. Still only 4 in my subdivision with one large still sitting open.

By the way I tried Chocobo in Japan and it was over 1200 so i decided to try there later.

Yes it is. My little group, some came from Japan and NA DC's and we're really happy on Sophia. Top benefits so far are the great people in Materia overall and no challenges for housing. DF is a challenge, but it seems to be getting better as more sprouts make their way up the food chain. PF groups are created to help people clear content for progression, trying to help the DF where we can though!
