The best way to make pvp (front) interesting

If only we could play the front with 2 teams and not 3 it would be so much better...
I don't know who came up with the idea to play with 3 teams but he doesn't know what the fuck he's doing
First of all the game is decided by the RNG and secondly even if you have a good team, you have almost no chance to win if you have 2 teams against you.
I see this so many times, it's infamous!
It is also imperative to give access to pvp at least level 50, it's just over if you have the misfortune to find yourself with a team of new level 30 players who have no idea what to do.
The vast majority of players on the pvp front don't know what to do and they don't care and that's normal at level 30 when you're in the middle of discovering...
If only we could choose to play in a team of 2, like in Halo for example.
Also SE has to clean up the mess, there are a lot of hackers and smart guys using exploits that totally ruin the value of the CC ranks, I'm so disgusted by these catastrophic decisions.

Umm.... So, there's Gridania, Ul'dah and Limsa... that's 3 city states in the alliance. You did read the background on this yes?

You know there's already two 2-team modes already, right? One just came back.... Rival Wings.

Aside from that, it just sounds like sour grapes leading to these ideas. Without RNG in frontline, battles would be very dull and flat. People would still do silly things and screw up. At least with 3 teams, there's the possibility one might realize the lower two need to focus on the team in the lead.

The three teams are from the lore of the game. You're representing one of the three Grand Companies in battle.

Also of course a lot of people don't know what they're doing. FL is a daily roulette. Not to mention some people spam it without caring anyways. But you can win a 1v2 easily if your team is actually good.

You need two things.
A) Don't just sit back collecting points at the start while the other two teams build up BH. Too many people think that's winning and then they wonder halfway through why their team is suddenly outmatched by even just one of the other teams. Don't blatantly ignore objectives either but BH is important.
B) Callers in the chat and the rest of the people in the team being willing to listen to them and maneuver. If you get pinched then that's probably on you for people on your team not checking the map and calling out that it's incoming.

And it's entirely up to RNG whether or not your teammates are up to this or whether or not you end up against small premade groups that are better organized and so forth.

The background has little value when it destroys the gameplay, at least that's what I think.
I play a lot of pvp and I guarantee that 98% of the time the team in first place is attacked by the 2 teams, which is impossible to counter, so the game punishes you if you play well?

I wouldn't have said anything if there was a way to do something about it, but in FF14 2 teams destroy 1 team no matter how good they are, the number wins.

All in all it makes every victory uncertain, it's not the strongest or the one who struggles to get the victory but the luckiest who wins which is deeply stupid and discouraging

A game of frontline is not nothing, it's a lot of time, it's sad to invest for nothing, at least if it was because the other team is stronger or works more I would not have said anything, but it's absolutely not the case.

And yes, it would be better to set a minimum participation from level 50 onwards, that would avoid many disasters.

U know, i like it the way it is.
And i know that its not always rng, its just what might happen.
I dont know how much Front u play, but i can tell u that usually the more organised teams win.
And to be at least a little organised is no witchcraft nor issit random.
It happens, when ppl start to chat and use maps.

Didnt play CC for a month, so i dunno the situation atm.
But i can assure u, dont worry the Front is allright.
If u dont like it, thats totally okay.
I dont like some things too, like Chpcobo Races, so i just dont play them.

It's not impossible to counter. Just pay attention and get out of the way before the pinch hits. I've had groups where that's happened, callers gave warning, we all dipped and came around the back to re-pinch someone else.

Strategy does matter in pvp a bit. Lol. The only thing that is inherently "luck" based are node spawns for Onsal and Seal Rock. I hesitate to include Shatter in that but you can if you want.

Taking Secure as the most basic example, you can easily win by capturing zones and going to mid and having people attack not only your nodes but the other teams as well. Have literally called it myself multiple times and watched us jump into first and hold it from there. Just don't feed the other teams by staying in mid too long afterwards unless there's a big node spawn and move as a group instead of going off on your own.

It's no different than WvW for GW2. 3 Worlds(with their paired servers) pitted against each other each week. And more often than not you may get double-teamed(like mine regularly is). Them's the kicks.

Ofc its strongly connected to the map type, but id second this.

Move into a fight, as soon u got what u need -> move out.
DONT chase ppl, thats nothin but ego and ur pwr will soon be needed elswhere to press and push the enemy.
Movement and map awareness is very important, dont stay too long and dont let them bait u.
If u played some time, u can easily bait ppl into traps...cause they are new, lost or just stupid.

Use chat, its better to say “blue swarmin X“ or “Baserape *sound*“ 3 times than 0 times.
Tell ppl whats happenin.
Go look for abandoned flags, use chat to call for help.
Dont spread too much, but dont swarm the whole time.
Sometimes a few ppl need to check out flags or even stay to hide and seek.

And the most important thing...
Dont expect others to do the job.
Use chat, call things, watch map.
Just do it.
Or else u will fail and start tellin ppl “...its all random and...“.

I agree that there are times that the second and third place teams will co-operate to attack the first place team, but 98% of the time? No way. I've also seen many times when the second place or third place team might attack each other , to try to get into first place, either thinking that they'll get in a position for first, or in order to end the match faster.

It's not necessarily a matter of numbers, a few players that coordinate and that have some skill can compensate quite well for some players that don't know their skills and/or aren't used to FL. Last minute games and very close matches are possible, and in some rare cases, a draw, that's what can make it fun.

I like to say wins and losses are a collective (lack of) effort. Nothing destroys the gameplay like people that don't really want to be there.

RNG makes things interesting. Having 3 teams does as well. Much like the rest of the content, people need to be attentive to their surroundings.

I think the only good fix for FL would be to lower the population of each team.
