BLU Update, Please

A while back Yoshi-P mentioned that they would look at BLU if there was enough community request for it.

It's been a while with no BLU update, and in a search for BLU on this.... "very broad" forum search bar didn't turn anything up so... here's my request for a BLU update.


Sorry if this doesn't really fit into "DPS Jobs" but idk where else to put it since "other battle systems" seems to be completely separate from jobs altogether.

I would love for the next Blue Mage update to discontinue its limited status and for it to be upgraded to a full job.

I'm only looking for a level bump and new spells. I don't even care if they give it more carnivale or whatever. BLU is my favorite content in the game, exactly as it is. Makes anything that requires syncing much, much faster and beyond more fun.

I hope the opposite of this. I would rather a brand new caster, not a reworking of the current BLU.

I'd like a BLU update myself. As it's my favorite class in the game. I hope they just bump us to 90 but we will probably be stuck in Shadowbringers in probably patch 6.55 or some nonsense.

Still got a full set of Cryptlurker caster gear collecting dust.

Probably won't see 90 until 7.x by design lol, I'll settle for being one expansion behind instead of 2. 90 would be nice but SE definitely doesn't want us cheesing current content with it, and even if they went through the trouble to exclude it from every instance then there would be no point being 90

No thanks. BLU is fun because it's OP and busted, which wouldn't be the case if it had to be balanced with all the other jobs.

What I'd love to see with the next update is that Blue Mage Battle Royale PvP mode they mentioned a while back.

You don't lose anything from a non-limited version of Blue Mage being made available for people to run regular battle content with. I hope that we both get that and the pvp mode.

Gonna repost because I can in a proper BLU thread.

They should take notes from Xenoblade 3's Soulhacker which is Blue Mage in all but name and not just give us spells but traits/passives and clear content or use this spell this many times to upgrade the spell or passive into a more powerful skill/trait.

As well as add new spells/traits onto the existing A rank and S rank hunt monsters and make it worth delving into doing Extreme trials.

And I do think it's time they let Blue Mages enter Deep Dungeons, Eureka(which is full of unique monsters that you defeat on each map), Bozja/Zadnor content for potentially more new acquisitions then gating them out of it. It is peculiar to me that the BiS gear for Blue Mage is in Eureka but Blue Mage itself can't earn it on their own you have to be a different class.

The notion of a limited job is such a dumpster bin idea that shouldn't even exist. If you want a proper Blue Mage then you have it start out from nothing until it becomes this overpowered contender that you may as well be a walking raid boss in the overworld.

Blue Mage is so one and done after you clear each Carnivale fight and it's pretty sad.

Given the lack of news on their plans for Blue Mage I hope we jump from 70 to 90 but I think if we get anything at all it will be up to 80 and we will always be one xpac behind. Ergo dead content.

The fun of Blue Mage in every FF it appears in is to defeat monsters and take their powers and make them your own They've made BLU very limited and half the spells achieve the same thing with similar effects and potencies it feels like they don't have a lot of creativity happening with creating new spells.

The best use of BLU is helping players farm FATEs quickly and doing some baller low level dungeon runs for Moogle tomes.
