Zero is properly named

She is disillusioned, nihilistic and has distilled existence into a series of transactions for survival. She is basically the embodiment of the Smashing Pumpkins song with the same name.

I can see this arc going similar to Shadowbringers eventually. I can almost guarantee we start absorbing the dark to bring the light to the 13th. I’m sure she will teach us. It does seem refreshing they bring us the equivalent of a nose ringed barista who realizes life is nothing more than a set of crappy transactions in order to scrape out a meager existence.

She’ll eventually become the Big bad of ff4 anyway and you’ll get to kill her (or at least the void sent part of her anyway before we save her), so be patient and enjoy

I hope Zero sticks around in the story for a long time, she's great.

I think she's pretty interesting. That means she will probably die, and I'll be left with just my Scion "friends" forever, but I'll enjoy it while it lasts.
