Unfortunately, if the Steam service is unavailable, you will not be able to play Final Fantasy XIV if registered through Steam. Furthermore, it is not possible to change between Windows and Steam as both utilize the same platform slot and only 1 or the other can be registered. We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause.

Should at least add "Standalone" license and "Steam" license on the Mogstation Account. Steam should be treated as a console platform itself.
I managed to fix this issue (for now) by restarting my modem. Worth a try guys, hope it helps even for a little while.
Nope. Steam was down for some time, and your modem has nothing to do with it.
It's just been resolved and the launcher works now.
Well a happy coincidence is a happy coincidence, thanks for letting me know.
FYI Steam has a brief weekly maintenance every Tuesday and is "down" for its duration. It's usually only about a half an hour and then its back up.
