Character stuck in Troia, booted from game, can't re-enter from character select

Character: Deceptus Keelon
World: Behemoth
Time/Date 1920 CST / 23Aug2022

In the Troia instance doing the quest right before the New Trial and I was booted from the game with an error. Didn't catch the error or record it.

Running Launcher as Admin, able to log into the character select screen.

Select Character

Gives a "Place in queue" and when my turn is up, loading screen displays but immediately closes down the game.

Tried 2 more attempts, same result.

Update:

Transferred to different realm, (Famfrit) able to log in.

Went to home world, attempted to go into Troia again via Azdgal's Legacy Dungeon. Instantly booted out.

Aside from it being a possible bug, two things that might help you resolve it.

The first, if you are on PC, is to go to Documents/My Games and go to the ffxiv folder, backup the CHAR folders by dragging them to the desktop, then make sure they are not in the ffxiv folder anymore. Then login to the game. It resets all your settings in case some of them got corrupted and crash you. If it works, you can slowly drag some of the setting files back one at a time until the crashes start, then you know which one is the cause.

The second is to click visit another world server on the character selection screen. It will take you to Ul'dah on a random server.

Update: until I tried to go back in Troia again and DX11 basically said NOPE.

Just speculating, but a texture file or something related to Troia may have gotten borked. I would try a file integrity check or whatever they call it.

Would be nice if we could but the launcher doesn't allow that for some reason.

Some DX11 errors reported on this forum have been traced back to hardware errors: bad DRAM (specifically, DRAM that was no longer getting a good connection the MB, which was fixed by re-seating the DRAM) and an overheating CPU (fixed by cleaning the heat sink) for example.

On PCs, there are free hardware diagnostics you can use to check your system.
PassMark Software's Memtest86 and BurnInTest, for example.

I am having the same issue and the same error. In the same cutscene before the new trial, but also before the new wing of Pandaemonium, midway through the cutscene involving a familiar. Either I get the error or an instant crash to desktop without one. I did a full reinstall of the game and it only made things worse, me getting CTDs by physically being in the Domain and not even starting the cutscene.
