So FFXI has it why not FFXIV?
When a Fishie bites it plays the music.

Be nice if FFXIV had it own fishing music.
(Sorry first FFXI OST was the /waiting fihsing music, i cant seem to find the track where it plays when the fish bites but either way would like to see FFXIV have its own tracks for fishing since it boring as hell.)
My guess is that it would be annoying for the music to be turning on and off at breakneck pace, since FFXIV you hit the fish once and that bite is over.
FFXI you had to fight the fish and it took a little more time, so they had time to play cool fish music.
I guess they could play the music constantly while you have your rod out, but that would seem strange too with action music while you wait for your bite.
A fishing blacksmith? Lol
He probably meant BGM/Background music, lol.
Alternatively, he could be referring to the concept of "Reactive Music", wherein a standard music plays during a "waiting mode", and a special music plays during"bite mode".
The window as mentioned earlier may be too brief for such a thing, but to be fair reactive music DOES exist in dungeons, like Aurum Vale in/out of combat.
