New pvp season

Hello, I am Rat Nibbles, a humble rat breeder, pvp player & occasional Limsa dweller.

Made my first character about a month ago, so sorry if my knowledge is lacking.


Last season I played a fair bit of Crystaline conflict & ended up in Diamond. Today I log in & notice that everyone has been reset back to bronze. I understand that it is a new season, but it is rather frustrating being thrown down to the depths and having to contend with all the Kiritos again after working hard to climb your way out of there last season. So my question is; who exactly benefits from having everyone reset back to bronze? the higher ranked players get frustrated & has to adjust to a more solo oriented playstyle, while the lower ranked players end up getting flamed and/or stomped by players who don't belong in their game in the first place.

I would recommend letting players who passed certain ranks start off the season slightly higher than the rest. It doesn't have to be a mayor advantage, just being allowed to start at silver 4 instead of bronze 4 is already a good way to stop a lot of the mismatching that has been happening today. It's not like a Crystal player is just magically going to get worse at the game over night. they're going to reach Crystal again sooner or later provided they bother playing. This just saves everyone involved from having to play out mismatched games & try to coin flip their way out of bronze.

They dropped everyone down because they changed the ranking system. There was a fair amount of people abusing the ratings system.
