My level 88 retainer (both DRG and RDM), gear level 542, only bring back 7 hides/skins. Is that the max? Don't want to buy a bunch of lev 90 gear if it will not increase the count.

15 is the max from hunt ventures. It's determined by the gear level of the retainer, but capped at 15.
