"Working as intended"?

I posted in the bug thread about a graphical bug with the Death Scythe and saw now that it had been moved over to the "Working as Intended" thread.

Now I'm not sure what to think..

Would anyone else say this is as intended?
How the blade has shifted place when holstered compared to how it was months ago.

Just curious to see if I'm just picky or something.

Could this just be a difference in how it sits on the various races? I just tried on my Viera and it's the same as in your 2nd picture. Maybe Lalas are the blessed ones. :3

If it has indeed changed, but is considered "working as intended", well........just know that clipping is a great sport over at SE. Sometimes it feels like they're trying to find new and increasingly worse ways to make things clip.

This is from 10-12-21 with no black spot.

This one I took just now and the black spot clearly shows.
Parts of the blade clearly visible that shouldn't be due it the blades position has shifted when holstered compared to how it should be.
The black spot is part of the blade that never was supposed to see the day of light, therefor they didn't add texture to it.

Idunno.. Since it clearly isn't supposed to be like this yet they deemed it as intended just feels that they care less than I had thought about fixing things.
Could just say that it is an error and they can at least try to fix it later on.

Did you include those extra pictures in your report?

I feel like the people tasked with reviewing bug reports might not be really versed in "how the game should work". It seems like a lot of things get rejected unless you're really clear about what it should be doing versus what it is actually doing, unless it's really jarring.

Oof. It's like the whole blade dropped off its hinge and sits way too low now. Bit of a shame as that was the bonus item. Fingers crossed it gets fixed silently down the road.

And yeah, not sure of how the bug threads work, but maybe update the post/resubmit with the new pictures using the same race as it makes it a bit more obvious.

if anything, its not a game breaking glitch.

so they toss it in to the pile of "things to be fixed if everything else is taken care of". software development is full of those things. they get worked on as there is time, or people to do it. not as much that they dont care, they just have bigger things that need caring about than a minor graphics glitch. dont take it personally.

No I didn't.
Especially the second one of those, as it was taken now and then.
Also, didn't mention it here, but I did in the original bug-post, that the original picture isn't mine, but one I found online which I borrowed since it pointed out with arrows what's wrong compared to the other picture.
I didn't really think there would be much need of any more comparisons than that.

I am getting honestly tired of the excuses devs make, and I dont mean just for ff14. Like how is this working as intended? Sure, it isnt gamebreaking but come on.... they dont even have the balls to say that this is too small of an issue for them to be bothered with and that they need their resources spend elsewhere (hah!).

the devs have better things to do with their time than monitor english forums. and the tech support moderators are going to be severely limited in what they pass to the customer. has nothing to do with "balls" it has to do with liability and procedure.

Well, if he didn't do a great job of explaining the problem and using the format they ask for, then nothing will happen.
