Second Ring Woes

Good Evening All,

I find myself in a weird point in the game. If I don't burn myself out from weekly grinding Tomestone, I *ought* have all my Reaper's gear at an ilvl of 600 before 6.2 arrives. All, that is,but save a second ring. My inability to buy a second one just irks me. I understand this is an issue that has come up in past expansions with similarly high end rings.

My limited ability with google-fu has failed me, would anyone know if there is a site I can go to look up unposted changes for FFXIV for patch 6.2? I just want I'll have the ability to buy the bloody thing.

Before anyone mentioned the ilvl 600 Asphodelos Ring of Slaying from First Circle Savage, I am indeed quite aware of it but there three things I believe that are a hinderance to me getting it. 1) I'm not home from work until nearly Midnight daily so I miss out on the good pugging times. 2) I'm currently Free Company-less, mostly for the same reason listed above. 3) Based on how often First Circle Normal stomps me into the ground, I frankly don't think I have the skill needed to complete it.

I just want a second ivl 600 ring I don't have to join a Savage to do, I don't wish to be deadweight to a group. I'm totally fine with having to grind for it, like from Aglaia weekly. Ergh, and 6.2 is supposed to up the gear levels to 610-620 ...

The tomestone rings remain Unique throughout the expansion when they're added. It's only when the next expansion launches that the Unique tag is removed (prior to Shadowbringers, the Unique tag was always present regardless of expansion).

Preliminary patch notes for 6.2 won't be posted to the Lodestone until the Friday before the patch release.

Having a second ring at a lower ilvl won't make you deadweight to a group. It's a tiny difference in stats between the 590 and 600 rings. If you're deadweight in a group, there's something else wrong.

if you don't raid, you don't need a second i600 lvl tome ring. you'll be fine with one regular and one augmented. if you simply MUST have a second ilvl 600 ring to satisfy some sort of OCD well, you're out of luck.

Tbh, if you don't raid, I'd think you don't even need to stress about the gear treadmill at all, right? I mean, when is i600 expected to be below minimum ilvl for anything? At which point several easier upgrade options are likely available.

This is possibly the best advice anyone can give. I got off the gear treadmill a long time ago and found the game far more rewarding than gear that becomes obsolete every 8 months. As for the ring, this is clearly SE's choice to leave it the way it is. They already showed a solution in recent times - remove the unique tag. I doubt they will change it for current content.

If you're not doing savage then why worry about being dead weight? The upgraded crafted gear to 590 is honestly more than enough for anything outside of savage. You won't be dead weight anywhere as long as you know your rotation.
