Buffs/Debuffs

Can we have a way to enable or disable showing buff or debuff or both at the party bar.

For example. From the point of view of the healer looking at the tank hp bar, it's hard to see if it needs esuna to be cast, because it shows all buffs/debuff at the same time. A way to choose only show buff or debuff would help a lot. What do you think?

In the 2.0 picture they show it on the party bar.. so maybe this means we will have to wait for that. I agree that it is needed asap.

I haven't ever found it difficult. Just look for the downward pointing arrows or poison symbols and the like. Additionally if you know the mob you are fighting, such as Chimera, you should know what debuffs they already do and be able to look out for them.

I don't get it, it would be a nice addition i guess but all debuffs/buffs has such varies icons, its no brainer to differenciate them.

I agree, but. From experience, people don't know. And being a tank, shouting every time for esuna, isn't fun. I speak not for myself, but for many players that aren't that agile to see that. Example moogle fight. Many times I found myself waiting for esuna because they can't see.

Not everyone has the same eyes that you do, and sometimes it is hard to see which buff/debuff is what. Especially when tank is stacking self buffs.

I like this idea and it is needed asap OP

This just sounds like poor excuses from WHMs who are being lazy. You shouldn't have to shout.

Edit* Additionally, it is part of a WHMs job to watch for debuffs. Yes, easier icons would be nice but that is no excuse for a WHM not doing a primary part of their role in a party.

yes, but specially with pick up groups, you get this problem. some whm do suck. this would help to alleviate the problem. if he sees an icon with the debuff only option activated, then he would esuna. Other MMO's i played had this option. It was neat. Specially when you had like 10 buffs at the bar.

It isn't a question of "laziness" or healers not doing their job. It's a matter of the fact that there are currently a ton of buff/debuff icons next to each character in the party list in a typical party situation, and having some way to either de-emphasize the stuff you don't care about or emphasize the stuff that you do care about would be really nice. I don't care if someone used a self-damage buff (and I don't think it's realistic to expect everyone to memorize the icon for every ability for every class in the game), but I *do* care if they have Regen or they have a poison DoT on them. Being able to see that stuff quickly and easily without having to visually scan through all of the crap in the status list would be nice.

Agreed. I know the icon's meaning. but i play at max resolution. you cant really tell if you have a debuff right away, specially when the icons are that small and you have like 10 buff's showing at the same time. good thing i usually skype with the white mage. but most doesnt. lol
