Will v. 2.0 feature item linking in chat?

For such an item-based MMO, FFXIV lacks one of the standard features of several other inventory-heavy multiplayer games: A way to link a description for a given item, by dragging said item, or its icon, onto the typing field of the chat widget. Any person that gets the link can, on clicking it, review the description, features, and stats of the item. The item should also appear in linked form upon dropping into your loot box or inventory, so that you can just drag or copy the link to the typing field to brag about it.

It makes life easier, by reducing the need to type details and enticing features of an item for the benefit of people not familiar with it. It makes communication between adventurers and crafters streamlined and error-free, and it adds a certain distinction to the feature-set of the game.

Will we be getting this? I certainly hope so.

I have no idea if it will be, but I definitely support the addition of it.

I hate when I'm in an instance and something drops to me... and I need to ask, "Hey, does anyone want [item name]?" Then people reply any of the following: What does it do? What are its stats? Can [class] wear it? Etc...

This could all be avoided with an item link feature.

Although... perhaps it is intended to be this way with SE. Perhaps they WANT us to communicate rather than simply click the item and not say a word... hmm.... ;P

I would really like to see this, I've thoroughly enjoyed it in other MMOs, it's made life simpler when asking people "Hey, need this _____?"

I'll bump this! Hope a rep forwards this to the devs. Maybe they already have plans for this.

I definitely agree to this, it was extremely useful in Dragon Nest which is where I encountered the use of this the most.
