[Issue] /sit emote not working correctly.

In the last couple of days I've been having a problem with the /sit emote, my character(s) won't sit on chairs, benches and the like where they should sit normally, instead they use the "sit on ground" emote, even if I enter the /sit command in the chat box they use the "sit on ground" one.


Did I tick an option to always use the "sit on ground" emote?. As far as I know no such option exists.


The only solution I have found is to restart the client so it's most likely an in-game bug.


Does anyone know of any solution or has anybody experienced the same issue?.

never had any issues with either. I have the /sit and /groundsit set up on a hotbar with other emotes I use a lot.

what "chat bot" program are you talking about?

since 3rd party software is a no no, and bannable, I just use what the game provides, you may wish to do the same, since in game it seems to work as intended 100% of the time.

So ... I seem to have found the culprit, the issue only happened around a given zone inside my FC mansion, no matter the chair all characters would just "sit on the ground".


It would appear that the "Scholasticate Table" triggered the abnormal behavior, a pretty big circle around the thing prevented the characters from sitting normally and after removing it I can sit on chairs again.

ah, no worries then. my guess is verbage. if you use just /sit, it will take whatever option is more available, be it ground or a bench. if you stand on the chair or bench does it /sit properly consistently?

Just switched characters and to my surprise the bug is back, my Au Ra can't sit on any chair, if she gets on top of a chair she would /groundsit and what's worst it's happening everywhere now, at least inside the mansion, if I go outside I can sit normally, if I go back inside the bug happens again.

The problem is this was not happening before but I started noticing it maybe yesterday or a couple of days ago at most, I haven't changed the way I do things to blame that.


Here's what I usually do, maybe someone could reproduce the bug:


.- I enter my FC mansion.
.- I cut distance by going trough a wall (Glade Partition).
.- I reach the Summoning Bell then when I try to /sit on the chairs around, the characters /groudsit instead of sitting normally.


Now, some may say it's because I'm going trough a wall, but I've been doing that forever and it's the first time I've had the issue, the only recent change I have done was placing the Scholasticate Table with some food on top of it, I have removed the table in case it was causing the problem but sadly didn't work.

Here is your issue most likely. If the chairs are close to the wall you're going through you won't be able to sit because when the unstick function kicks in and removes the hitbox, which lets you through the wall, it will also disable the sit function on everything nearby for what ever reason.

Just running away a good distance from the wall and then back should fix it though.

I've had the same problem in my house, was sitting on a Scholasticate chair in front of a goldsmithing table. Trying to sit on it would cause me to ground sit through the chair about 2 times in 3. Didn't test other outcomes though so not sure if it exactly replicates yours. It feels like the hitbox of the table occludes the chair and forces you outside its area causing you to miss the chair.
